Having worked many years as a substitute teacher in CPS, it has been very rewarding to cultivate relationships with the same students, every day. Being a mother to my own older children has given me a new perspective on the preschool years. Time is fleeting and something to cherish. My hobbies include photography, and a special interest in science. I am looking forward to spending time with your children and hope to encourage curiosity and a love of learning!

Our class is ready to have many great adventures. Our daily activities will promote self-help skills and social skills, as well as developing literacy and math skills. Our art, music, sensory activities, science, outdoor play, circle time and center time will also give us opportunities to build motor skills, develop our creativity and imagination, and prepare for kindergarten.

I adore teaching preschool. I have found that early childhood development is where my heart lives. I am passionate about this amazing time in a child’s life, and have so much fun teaching them! I have many years of teaching in a preschool setting, both in Texas and Missouri. During the school day you may find me dancing, swinging, reading in a silly voice, or on the floor playing right alongside the kids. I am a very hands-on teacher and strive to cultivate an excitement for school so that students become learners for life!

Although I have substituted in all the classrooms at DTE, I especially enjoy being the permanent 2-3 year old teacher. Before becoming a preschool teacher, I was a camp director for Cub Creek Science Camp, in Rolla, Mo. for three years. I got to spend all of my summers with 250 children, each week, as well as take care of their camp zoo. I am currently the mother of two beautiful boys. We engage in all kinds of fun activities in the classroom. I always look forward to meeting the new families each school year!
